[They don't, but he's not going to dwell on that too much.]

[What in the world was Gansey doing? He was listening to him. Except that his brain finally clicks on what was going on, sort of.]

[Honestly, Gansey's not sure what to do with that except celebrate it. He somewhat understands Noah's fear that it's not permanent, but life has never been permanent to Gansey.

He keeps his tone soothing, reassuring, while trying to think of how to keep Noah calm.]
