Of a mixture of both, I think.

It’s like...he Had a nightmare, tried to kill it, couldn’t and made a mess.
Left it.
Smeared it around and found some sort of order for it.
And then got frustrated cause it wasn’t right and kicked a few boxes, threw all of his clothes on the floor, let Chainsaw have her way with everything, looked proud of himself and then kicked another box before leaving.

I'm concerned by how much of that description could be accurate.

I think we would have noticed another night terror.

The kicking the boxes, throwing clothes on the floor, Chainsaw having her way with everything, and then kicking another box seems plausible.

Oh. No. I mean normal nightmare.
Like losing to Kavinsky or Chainsaw running away.
Flying.
Whatever.
Ronan reacts weird to ALL nightmares.
I’ve watched him have normal nightmares, poor guy.
Don’t tell him but sometimes when I can tell it’s getting bad, I wake him up myself and just go away so I don’t get thrown out the window again.

I expect that he reacts weird to all dreams.

I try not to think too hard about the subjects of his nightmares.

[Especially when he'd known Niall and could easily imagine what Ronan had seen.]

I don't think he'd throw you out a window for that. He'd be angry but mostly at himself, not you.

Ronan does many questionable things for fun.

I would expect yelling and throwing things if you woke him from a nightmare, not defenestration.

[Gansey had thought that Noah probably watched them when they didn't know it, but that doesn't mean he really knows how to react to that assumption being proven correct. It's strange, but not as disturbing as he expected.]
